Tiny Boutique This tiny boutique hotel - and we mean tiny, just three rooms - in the heart of Sapa town is very stylish, beautifully furnished, and has amazing mountain views through floor to ceiling windows. The rooms feature reversible air-conditioning units to heat the room on cold nights - pretty rare to find this in Sapa, but sometimes necessary - and are situated above an absolutely amazing restaurant serving totally delicious north Vietnamese ethnic food in very stylish surroundings. This place is a real find.
Elegant Comfort A more traditional option, this elegant, Swiss chalet-style four star hotel is comfortable and well equipped. The wooden floored rooms are cosy, with ethnic North Vietnamese fabric furnishings, and private balcony overlooking the town, gardens or mountains - and all rooms have heaters. With a heated indoor pool and kids club, this hotel is great for families. The hotel also features an excellent restaurant, and spa. We love the hotel bar here with its real log fire, not often you get to enjoy one of these in Vietnam!
Cultural Authentic This mountain lodge in the Ha Giang is an old ancestral Hmong house, restored in completely authentic style, consisting of 6 guest rooms in total. Not for everybody - the bathrooms are shared and outside the main house - but it does represent a great opportunity to stay in a traditional house in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The family are happy to cook traditional north Vietnamese food for their guests.
Rural Ecolodge This stunning rural eco-lodge, set in the mountains a short drive from Sapa town, provides a fantastic base to explore the rural life of the people of the area, or for trekking and mountain biking. All of the 33 rustic chalet-style bungalows are comfortably equipped, with rain showers and open air private balconies. The lodge has a restaurant constructed from an old traditional Tay stilt house, serving international and traditional Vietnamese dishes. The lodge also features a spectacular infinity pool with stunning views.
