Serenety This is a gem of a hotel. Situated in the most beautiful countryside imaginable, among the rice fields and karst towers of Ninh Binh province, this little resort has just sixteen gorgeous guestrooms, all perfectly, simply furnished, scattered through a beautifully maintained garden. The pool has one of the most idyllic views of any we know in Vietnam. The restaurant is excellent, with some really super European/Vietnamese fusion dishes, using fresh produce from the hotel’s own vegetable garden, and the staff are as friendly and welcoming as you could hope for. A favourite of ours - you will not want to leave.
Family Deluxe This four star resort, close to the beautiful Van Long nature reserve, has 170 rooms, and boasts extensive facilities with multiple swimming pools (indoor and outside), a large spa, three restaurants and excellent facilities for children. The rooms are very well appointed and exude an almost “cottagey” feel, unusual for a resort of this size. If you stay over a weekend, you’ll be surprised at the number of rich Hanoians down for the weekend - but the resort is much quieter during weekdays. A really well-run resort.
